Students participating in the CMC-UH REU program receive a $4000 stipend and three hours of University of Houston course credit for Independent Studies in Materials Chemistry, for which the REU program pays all tuition and fees.

Participants also receive rent-free furnished housing that includes a private bedroom and a bathroom shared with one other REU participant. Two or four students share a modern kitchen furnished with kitchenware, dishes, and utensils. Students are responsible for purchasing their own food and beverages. Parking, common laundry facilities, TV rooms, and high-speed internet connections are provided.
